Exercise keeps the body fit. However, if you do not have time to do it, could you make your body fit through laughter? A study in the United States revealed that laughter seems to have a similar effect of exercise.
Based on studies conducted a number of researchers Loma Linda University Schools of Allied Health, laugh not only able to lower production of stress hormones, but also boost immunity, lower cholesterol, and blood pressure.
The study involved 14 healthy volunteers for three weeks. To see the effects of laughing, they were asked to select and watch a 20-minute video. Anyone got a video genre of humor (eustress), other films that sparked tension (distress). During the study, researchers routinely measure blood pressure, also took blood samples of volunteers each before and finished watching the movie.
The analysis showed, volunteers who watched the movie suspenseful no change in beneficial. Meanwhile, those who watched a funny video experience changes in blood pressure and improved health conditions.
"The results of this study demonstrate a variety of modulation and the response of the body due to repeated laughing together with the influence of regular exercise," said Dr.. Lee S. Berk, an expert in psychoneuroimmunology, which is involved in the study. The study results presented at the conference 'Experimental Biology' 2010
